Brown's(?) Invention of 1887.
Have you ever seen another example of this curious "BIOGRAPHY"
pull tab? Mrs. J. E. Eberts filled it out in 1897, ten years after the patent
date, so maybe there are more out there. It will take, however, a look at
the patent information to see if photographer Brown was the actual patent
holder.
I question the value of the tab (which was meant to be pushed back under
the brown paper holder on the back) for a cabinet card. But it might have
proved very handy on a tintype, which have hard-to-write-on black or brown
metal backs.
